my name is elle, my pronouns are she/her, and I'm a proud sapphic transsexual woman. I'm thirty something, I live on unceded Wurundjeri land in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. I'm a fancy professional woman working in a cool (read:busy) role at a great organisation, but this isn't a place for talking about that.
I sometimes like to call myself a multi-disciplinary artist, but I don't know if that really provides a full picture sometimes, but I guess it also depends on your definition of art? I do things across a huge variety of mediums, from photography to acrylic paints, I use digital mediums and written word. For brevity, I'll not actually list all of the different things that I use to create, but as I continue to build this website and post content, hopefully I'll be able to show some of the different things that I make.
What else is there to say about me? Well, I fit into that significant crossover of people who are Autistic and have ADHD. I don't really know anything else, at least, my own experiences are defined by this.
I've also got a chronic pain condition (I think recent research has maybe identified it as an autoimmune disorder?)
I've worked in dozens of different jobs, across too many different sectors. I've been married, and divorced, and I'm currently engaged (kissing people emoji). I'm not really into monogamy, but beyond that, I can't really be bothered to give it more of a label.
Uhh, I care for two cats with my partner. Zelda, who is 12, and who is both super fucking needy and super fucking fussy; and Galadriel, who is 2, and is the biggest menace I've ever known. I love them both with every part of my brain that is able to hold conscious thought.
And uhh, about the purpose of this website? Well, I guess its a few things really.
Firstly, its a bit of a nostalgic callback. For me, the internet peaked during the early web2.0 era when anyone could build their own personal part of the internet, before ad revenue crushed individuality into the three or four social media apps that are under the control of massive corporations.
And Secondly, FUCK social media (again lol). I just can't stand the rigidly curated forms of 'specific' media that are defined as the right kind of media that you're allowed to post as so-called "content". To quote a bit of media that kinda reflects my feelings, "I want mountains Gandalf, Mountains". I want to be able to post long-form content, about whatever I want (without "community guidelines" censorship).
And thirdly, fuck algorythmically sorted content (I know tumblr still exists, but its truly a shadow of its former glory). Nothing will ever be better than when I was able to get posts from all of my favourite sources served to me via chronologically sorted RSS feeds.
